Pottery!
April 25th, 2006
After months and months of anticipation, I have finally completed another batch of pottery. I hope to be turning out peices on more of a regular basis. The more I do this, the more I enjoy it, and of course, there is always room for improvement. So without further ado, here are the photos:
The Drew Vase: made especially for Drew one night when he came to see what mommy does at pottery class.
The Butter Bell: also known as a French butter dish, I believe. Butter is placed into smaller “bell” and then water is put in larger container, keeping the butter smooth and spreadable, while keeping it fresh.
My Lopsided Purple Bowl: For sale: $15
Lovey-Dovey Mugs: For Sale: $20 for the set.

VERY PRETTY!
Though, it brings up the subject of butter. I’m a butter in the fridge kind of girl. I don’t really understand the butter left out thing. Perhaps it’s how I was raised…?

Heather- I cannot stand having hard butter when you’re trying to spread it on your toast, such a pain! So, the butter bells come in handy ; )

You are SOOOOO talented! Ever since seeing the first batch you made I have wanted to take a pottery class. Hubby says “not now”. (pouting)… LOL.
Everything is beautiful! How do you pick such great colors, too? … There’s a lady my Mom used to buy pottery from named Virginia Crim. Your things remind me of her. She was “famous” in that part of Maryland.
My Mom still has some mugs and things and I have a bank.

To you all: Thank you, thank you for your compliments. You are too kind.
Tee and Daphne: I totally encourage you to take a class whenever you can. It is so much fun!
Tee: I can’t take any credit for the colors, just chosing them. The studio I take my class at happens to have some really nice colors.

I LOVE them. Oh, SG, you do such amazing work. I especially like the blue. Do you take orders??? HMM??? If you do, I would adore a blue mug. Where do I send my moolah? (you think I am joking??)

That butter bell thing is gorgeous! I love the mugs too. If only I were a coffee drinker.
